Several days have passed since the debut of TAWAVE, an event on digital and data-driven sustainability, with the aim of outlining a more innovative future for Taranto and for the companies that operate in this area and beyond.

TAWAVE was organized by surfHers, an all-female association made up of 5 professionals –Alessia Demarco, Mariagrazia Efato, Valeria Merlo, Stefania Ressa, Carlotta Spalluto – who work in the digital world with the aim of generating an impact on people and the territory in which they operate and who are all involved in Sabanet.

WHAT HAPPENED AT TAWAVE?

It's Saturday 25 September, the meeting room of the Salina Hotel is full of people, and the long-awaited TAWAVE –innovation event and digitalisation – is about to begin, which aims to reinforce the concept of innovation as a path to follow to achieve growth objectives.

With more than 140 guests including entrepreneurs, freelancers and students, the atmosphere is positive, the energy is sky-high and the surfers' stomachs twist with emotion.

At 4.30pm the chairs are almost all occupied, the speakers are in their places and the workshop by Andrea Romoli  has just finished (sold out).

THE TALK IS PREPARING TO GET INTO THE MAIN STORY

Surfer Stefania Ressa steps on stage (without a surfboard) and opens the TAWAVE dance, charging up the audience.

After the usual thanks, Fabrizio Manzulli, Economic Development Councillor of the Municipality of Taranto, takes the floor and reiterates his desire to support initiatives like this and invites us not to stop because the city needs opportunities for discussion on important issues such as digital sustainability with the aim of outlining a more innovative future for Taranto.

At this point, it’s time for the SURFHERS!

Mariagrazia Efato and Alessia Demarco, evidently excited, tell us how the association and the event were born, underlining the clear and unequivocal will to ride the wave of change that we risk being overwhelmed by, unless we jump on the board and try to surf. So we find ourselves on stage, all together – joined by Valeria Merlo  and Carlotta Spalluto – incredulous, happy and also a little dazed.

The goal is to welcome the challenges of tomorrow, channeling (positive) energies towards activities that create synergy, awareness and inspiration.

Next, Armando Reale takes the floor, describing Sabanet, the company mission and that of the Network to which it belongs.

6:30 PM – the eagerly awaited coffee break is one of the most intense moments for networking. In 30 minutes we see people exchange business cards, converse, exchange experiences and stories.

The talk starts again. There are a total of 13 experts – from all over Italy and in one case from London – who tell their stories to those present, who inspire and make people think.

9:00 PM – the 1st edition of TAWAVE ends. The surfers, extremely exhausted and worn out, are satisfied and happy; between thanks, gifts, networking and final greetings, they prepare to ride the wave with their favorite board, namely the one that awaits them for dinner!

On the terrace of the Salina Hotel, among the city lights, the illuminated pool and good wine, the surfHers spend the evening together with the speakers, discussing the event and planning the next steps to take together, toasting the synergies and the new change set in motion!
